2013 has been an amazing year for Orange Eventing, with all the horses going well and stepping up to the next level. The horses have finished the season without injury (touching wood!!!) and we are very excited about their prospects for 2014.

Orange has had a fantastic year, with 3 placings at OI level, a place at advanced level and double clears at all three of his 3 star runs! We can't wait for next season!

The super reliable Scooter Alley has jumped double clears at intermediate, two star and advanced level, and clocked up more points. Scooter has earned his place on the Orange Eventing team, and we will pick and choose competitions to suit him for next year. 

Team stalwart Zippi Jazzman has consolidated his form at novice level with several good placings and a clear around the CIC* at Hopetoun. 

The beautiful Picture Perfect has shown his ability in his first few pre novice competitions and will hopefully quickly upgrade to novice next season. 

New addition Impromptu has made great progress, starting his competition career at intro level with Brioney and finishing the season with double clears and prizes at novice level. He is an exciting future prospect.

Huge thanks to the genius that is Owen Moore and to everyone who has helped make 2013 a great season.

Great afternoon training at Team Tait. Ace Lightening looking fantastic and enjoying his job. Stan extremely pleased to be out and about, demonstrated by much kicking of the lorry and jolly head flinging and another practice outing for Pinky. 
Poor Scooter has banged himself and so will miss his final outing of the season at Little Downham but hopefully will be back on form in time for Lyneham hedge hopping.

Not our best day of the season yesterday at Moreton Morrell. Saint was doing the BE100, Basil and Zippi the novice. All three did pleasing tests but the Showjumping caused carnage. Basil jumped well but the other two had several fences down each. We were gutted, but as it turned out there were only 4 clear rounds in Basil's section and 5 in Zippi's! I am not sure this is acceptable, as courses at this level should be encouraging and educational, and I can only conclude that horses were finding it difficult to get sufficient push off the dead, deep surface in the arena. Consequently we did not run either Zippi or Saint XC. Basil jumped a beautiful clear around his first novice track and would have been well placed had he gone faster. Well done to Brioney for doing such a good job producing him.

What a week for Orange Eventing at Blenheim International Horse Trials for Orange's first CCI***. Orange enjoyed showing off at the trot up on Wednesday, and settled in well, giving us all cause for concern with his over enthusiastic rolling!
